Nucryo Vascular: PolarCath Peripheral Dilation system
The PolarCath Peripheral Dilatation System is a medical device to help treat peripheral arterial disease (PAD). PolarCath uses CO2 cartridges to dilate stenosis in the peripheral vasculature (iliac, femoral, popliteal, infrapopliteal, renal and subclavian arteries) and treats for obstructive lesions of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) access grafts or arteriovenous dialysis fistulae. The PolarCath System is also indicated for post-deployed stent expansion of self-expanding peripheral vascular stents.
Nucryo approached us (evolve sense at the time), with the challenge of refreshing their existing device with a modern look and feel that would easily stand out from its competitors. The device features a custom ergonomic and glove friendly CO2 cap to ensure a secure lock to the main body. The clean legible user interface allows for a ease of use of instruction and indication of the device. Though our efforts had paused during the middle of our process, the PolarCath we envisioned, is highly aesthetic with a modern futuristic twist for a medical device.
